SUPPORT THE P.S. 347 2026 MARATHON TEAM!

P.S. 347 is an official charity partner for the TCS NYC 2026 Marathon.
We have five runners who together aim to raise $30,000 for our school.

MARY ANNE FIORILLO

This year will be my 6th NYC Marathon, and I’m especially excited to be running for a cause that is very close to my heart. I’m honored to run in support of P.S. 347, The American Sign Language & English Lower School, where I have the privilege of teaching. P.S. 347 is a unique dual language NYC public school where Deaf and hard of hearing students, CODAs (Children of Deaf Adults), and hearing students learn and grow together in American Sign Language and English — a community where differences are celebrated, inclusion is part of everyday life, and every child has a place.

Families come from across New York City to be part of this special school, and P.S. 347 is helping create a more inclusive future for Deaf children while fostering a new generation of hearing allies and advocates. I’m so grateful to run on behalf of a school and community that I love so much, with my students and school community in my heart every step of the way. If you are able to support P.S. 347, I would be so grateful — every donation helps support the incredible students, families, and community that make this school so special. Thank you for being part of this journey

KIANA GONZALEZ

This year, I’m taking on one of the biggest challenges of my life. Running the New York City Marathon! As a CODA (child of deaf adults), the Deaf community has always been at the heart of who I am. I’m also proud to be a Bronx native, a lower income kid, and the child of immigrants who taught me the value of hard work, resilience, and giving back. Being crowned Miss World America New York 2019 gave me the opportunity to connect with Deaf communities and advocates around the world, and deepened my commitment to using every platform I have to build bridges and create opportunities for k/codas.

For the past 5 years, through the kodagift organization, I’ve had the privilege of supporting students at PS 347, and running this marathon is another way I can give back. I would love to dedicate this run to my mother, YVA GONZALEZ, who passed away suddenly in December 2024 — as I take on each of the 26.2 miles, I will carry her memory with me. Every donation will help support opportunities and resources for the students at PS 347. Please consider making a donation. Together, we can make every mile count. Thank you <3

JASON KITCHEN

I'm running the NYC Marathon for P.S. 347 because this cause is personal for my family. My young nephew was born with a condition that affects his hearing and vision, so our whole family is learning sign language to connect with him. Watching him light up every room he's in is a reminder that his life will be full of love, laughter, and possibility.

My wife and I are committed to supporting kids like him in every way we can. We came to P.S. 347 through close friends — Jayson Schooff ran for this team in 2023, and we were proud to be part of his support crew. P.S. 347 does extraordinary work for Deaf and hard of hearing students, and every dollar raised goes toward a community that means everything to our family.

JAYSON SCHOOFF

Our Son Jude is our joyful, spirited three-year-old who has completely stolen our hearts and transformed our lives in the best possible way! Jude has Usher Syndrome (2A), which affects his hearing and vision, and wears a cochlear implant on his left ear and a hearing aid on his right. He's a rockstar who communicates using both spoken language and American Sign Language. Watching him move fluidly between both worlds is nothing short of amazing. Our whole family has been on the most wonderful adventure learning ASL together, and seeing Jude light up when he signs, laughs, and grows within the community around him is pure magic.

PS347, the School of American Sign Language here in New York City, has been such a gift to so many families, including ours — a place where kids like Jude are embraced, uplifted, and celebrated every single day! I ran for this school back in 2023 and it was hands down one of the most joyful and motivating experiences of my life — every mile felt like a celebration! I just had to come back and do it all over again. Every dollar we raise goes toward the students, teachers, and programs that make PS347 such a special place.

COLTON SPROSS

I'm running the marathon to raise money for my son's school, PS 347 The American Sign Language School. It's a very special school that serves the students like my son in the deaf and CODA community. I have seen the amazing impact that this school has had on my Deaf son. We moved to NYC from Atlanta, Georgia and specifically chose this unique school for him to attend. I would like to give back to the community.

Also, I am an avid runner who dreams of running the NYC Marathon. I have been doing distance running seriously since 2023 — multiple half-marathons, 10 milers, 10Ks and 5Ks — and this will be my first full marathon. I have a great team of supporters who will come out and cheer on the runners with the PS 347 crew. No donation is too small. Please click on the donate button!

The PS347 mission is to provide a bilingual education that values American Sign Language and Deaf culture and to help bridge the Deaf and hearing communities in New York City.

P.S. 347, The American Sign Language & English Lower School, is a Dual Language PreK-to-8 public school in NYC serving d/Deaf, hard-of-hearing (D/HOH), CODA (children of deaf adults), and hearing students. We are a non-zoned mainstream school centrally located in Manhattan.

Our families come from all over NYC to be a part of this special place - a place where hearing differences are the norm, and everyone feels like they truly belong. We are on a quest to become the most inclusive school for the Deaf community, and strive to create a new generation of hearing allies and advocates.
